Blog: Twitter security update

In Social Media, Twitter, Twitter Tips on March 17, 2011 at 9:16 am

Recently I posted on a Facebook update, allowing HTTPS to be used, instead of HTTP (in simple terms, adding a layer of security when you access the site over WiFi) – that post gave you a guide to change the setting.

Twitter have now released the same update following a trial period.  To take advantage of this, you simply need to switch on the HTTPS option.

Changing Twitter Settings

From Twitter’s homepage, go to your Profile Menu in the top-right corner. Click Settings. Twitter will show you the first page of options for your Settings (username, email etc.).

Using HTTPS for Twitter

Scroll to the bottom of this list – the HTTPS option is the last one on the page.  Check the box – and remember to save changes.

Probably my shortest post ever, but so long as it helps, it’s worth it!

  1. Done. And thanks James!
